Private Track Drive Days

What are they ?

A circuit is booked for exclusive use by members and special guests. Full use of the track is available, with fire and medical facilities, during the running hours of the track with limited rules and regulations.

Some days have in-built competition and timing although most are designed specifically to maximise on track time.

Who should go ?

Inexperienced Drivers - Circuits are safer than public roads, no on-coming traffic, lamp posts or trees to contend with. Circuits are also designed for speed, which makes finding the limit of both car and driver a safer experience for all.

Racing novices - This is a great place to get fully addicted to racing, learn how best to use your equipment and understand how to modify both car and driver and achieve results.

Experienced Racers - Track time is limited in competitive events and often blurred by emotion and competitive desire to win. Testing is a pipedream  for most club level entrants, a low cost relatively clear track with known drivers provides the best of testing and an  opportunity to learn from others.

Where are they held ?

Most track days are held at Wakefield Park, Goulburn. This has been the most accessible track for many years, it is one of the safest and technical tracks in Australia and hosts most of the top categories of motorsport.

With the closure of Oran Park the next most accessible Track  is at Marulan, Gary Willmington has built a Driver Training facility with the emphasis on developing Driver skill. This circuit is challenging to master and a great deal of fun for the beginner.

Eastern Creek is a venue more orientated to super high performance categories with many fast corners and a long straight set to challenge the rev limiters of slower machines. Access is much harder to gain and the longer 4Klm length makes it very hard on the average street car.

The Eastern Creek complex does have advantages in that it houses a Skid Pan and Kart Track that can be utilised for alternative events.
